British Energy the UK's biggest energy producer has confirmed that the nucular plants which it shut down last month will remained closed for the forseeable future.

This issue may leave a whole in the British Energy supply.

Peter Atherton, an analyst for Citigroup, said: “This is bad news for British Energy. In our view, it now looks increasingly likely that the reactors will be down for the rest of winter.”
