Finding the right duel energy provider is not always an easy task. Who should you trust? Which provider is making realistic claims? Aren’t all duel energy providers basically the same? When you start searching for a reliable and stable duel energy provider, finding answers to these questions is essential to the success of your decision. Scottish Power is a respected international company with a number of strong businesses focusing on three philosophies – safety, service, and growth. One part of the Scottish Power company is focused on energy wholesale and is proudly the leading wind farm production unit in the UK. Another part of the Scottish Power company is focused on energy retail supplying duel energy to an estimated 5 million establishments in the UK. One of the benefits of Scottish Power is that it believes in the use and expansion of green energy – or energy that is environmentally friendly. Green energy allows for the customer’s needs to be met while reducing carbon dioxide emissions affecting the environment. Renewable energy will close the “energy gap” causing higher prices and unreliability to the customer as well. Simply stated, Scottish Power maintains and promotes growth by investing in major organic resources, and then provides customers with an affordable, clean solution for their energy needs. Scottish Power has had issues with rising prices, as has 12 out of 13 of the duel energy providers. However, Scottish Power still remains one of the best options for consumers. Deciding to utilise Scottish Power Online can also dramatically cut the price of the normal energy bill. Unfortunately, Scottish Power has contributed the higher costs of a unit of energy to the rising demand and shrinking domestic reserves. However, as Scottish Power depends more and more on wind power and other alternative forms of energy, the prices are predicted to stabilize. In 2005 and 2006, Scottish Power issued customer rebates to many customers of up to £40 once again proving stability to an often volatile industry. British Gas – under its many trading names and guises, is one of the major competitors of the ever popular Scottish Power. With an expected three price hikes foreseen for 2007 alone, British Gas has come under close scrutiny for not only the high price of service but for the incentives to consumers to purchase and utilize green energy. British Gas announced in 2005 special incentives to customers utilizing environmentally friendly methods, however, it has yet to incorporate these alternatives to imported energy. Scottish Power offers the best alternative for consumers within its service area. With Scottish Power, stability, reliability, and affordability are concepts not alien to this industrial giant. Lowering emissions is a legal obligation set forth by the Kyoto agreement, and Scottish Power believes not only in meeting the agreement, but instead, it paves a path that other energy providers could follow. There are few energy providers capable of meeting the stringent requirements Scottish Power has developed for itself. While British Gas leads the market with over 50% of consumers utilising its service, the tide is changing as consumers recognize the importance of green energy. As such, Scottish Power is proving that changing with the times is not an option but a necessity. One of the largest concerns in and around the UK and Scotland is the ‘energy gap’. Once, the UK and Scotland were independent suppliers and providers of energy, but since 2000, the amount of energy in the reserves has not been sufficient to provide an independent source of energy. Energy providers must now purchase energy from external sources. However, Scottish Power is the leader in wind power, and as such, is finding that alternative sources can and is reducing the cost of energy to the consumer. While Scottish Power may not have all the answers, it does offer a clean, cost effective alternative to the high cost of imported energy. As the leader in alternative energy sources, Scottish Power is leading the industry by example. With the number of announced price rises in the 2007, Scottish Power definitely offers a stable option for consumer that care about the future and reducing emissions in the environment we all share.
